I have followed the Red Road all my life. In doing so, I have been able to modernize the things that keep me going in the here and now. Today, I ride the painted iron pony. I let people all over the USA know that the Apache' people are alive and well. We are here and will always be here. Keep my language alive, keep our Spirit alive. The 3 albums are a way of doing that. Let me tell you about my 3 albums I have. This is not your typical native music. The music here is powerful, raw and at award level. She puts her heart and soul into every song you hear. Whether it be a crackle in her voice as she immerses herself into songs that stir the heart and soul. Songs that can inspire you or bring tears to your eyes. Music Seasoned by the Earth & Her People A Prayer for you who come here "Oh Great Father Spirit, I ask that, those people who come here be Blessed and find the Peace and Harmony that they seek within this place. Let the music soothe and enrich each of their lives. May this be done in your Great Presence and in your Great Name. Ashogee Shi Usen" - (thank you my Great Father (God)). - Prayer from Candy/Gale Thanks for coming by the Native American Web page.. As you know or don't know. I am Native American and my Ancestry is, "Mescalero Apache" which is located deep in the South of New Mexico, USA.
Whispering Winds on the Red Road I just finished the Full Length Album (Whispering Winds on the Red Road) and it is fantastic like to my other two albums. The new Album is about following the Red Road even though the year is 2008. It is, a remembering of where one comes from and how I got here. From my Great Grandfather never surrendering to the Americans in 1886 and hiding out with "Nino Cochise" in the Sierra Madre Mountains and Copper Canyon to my Grandfather being a Scout for "Emilio Zapata" in the Mexican Revolution to me standing on stage singing a song about them and those historic times. The Red Road that leads to the Here and now. I feel you're going to really love the songs on the album. As Always, I dedicate all my Native Music to my people, the Mescalero Apache's, (mashgale') for whom I will always love, to my Great Grandfather, Grandfather and the Great Father Spirit who has made it all possible for me. For without them, I would not be here.
Liquid Visions The CD Album, "Liquid Visions".. The Album took me almost 4 years to complete, only because I write a song, then record it and a week later I would say NO! I don't want that song on there and delete it. This went on month after month and year after year. I could write an Apache' song, but I wanted to go deep into Central and South America as well and the melodies had to be just right. So, it took me almost 4 years to make this album. But what an album it is! Over 65 minutes of Native Music that can send your spirit soaring. Finally, after about 6 months after it came out, I decided to throw the album into the, Nammy Awards (Native American Music Awards) and see what happens. Since the music ventured outside of the USA, I submitted it to the "World Music" category. Wow, I got an Award Nomination and the people started buying the Albums left and right. I was always trying to stay ahead of the orders. Many times I ran out by only a few days. I honestly feel you're going to Love the album as so many thousands upon thousands of others have. There are 2 Vocal songs and with my voice (contra-alto), you can bet there are no yelps or high screeches.
Day of the Wolf The "Day of the Wolf" is my pride and joy towards my people. The songs are in English and in Apache'. The songs are not Traditional in style but are in melody and language. I don't speak fluent Apache' anymore and it can get pretty rusty at times. So, it took a while to find the lyrics in what I wanted to say in the song. The Theme is about the Powerful Wolf. In my Homeland of Southern New Mexico, there really isn't a lot of wolves. But, their cousin, the Coyote is there in abundance. One would have to go high into the Mountains to find that elusive Wolf. That is what the theme is about. The survival of the Wolf and how it compares to the survival of my people. My Great Grandfather and Grandfather were wolves to me. They lived high in the Mountains after 1886 and were very elusive for years on end. A lot of people love this album and I think you will too.
I have received your Liquid Visions, Day of the Wolf, & Whispering Winds
on the Red Road. I find myself going down the road, singing & humming
these songs. Can you please send me the English translations to this
music? I would like to know what I am singing (or trying to sing).
Thanks, Gale

Corry
